Yvo Heidemans is running the London Marathon 2027 for Essex Recovery Foundation
We’re delighted that Yvo will be taking on the London Marathon 2027, raising vital funds for Essex Recovery Foundation.
Yvo is Team Manager of the Changing Futures Wellbeing Team at Essex County Council and works closely with ERF, supporting many of the same people and communities across Essex.
Through his work, Yvo has seen first-hand both the challenges people can face in accessing support and the difference that recovery can make. He’s taking on the 26.2-mile challenge to raise money for ERF and shine a light on the inspiring stories of people who have rebuilt their lives in recovery.
For Yvo, those stories will also be his motivation through the months of training ahead:
“Recovering from drug and alcohol addiction is harder than running a marathon. These are the stories I will think of when I’m hitting the wall, or when I have to train in the dark and cold.”
Support Yvo’s marathon journey
Every donation will help Yvo towards his fundraising goal and support Essex Recovery Foundation’s work making recovery visible across Essex.
