We are so excited to finally share that we are taking the first steps to making a radical change to the way drug and alcohol services are commissioned in Essex.
Essex County Council have put their faith in us to use our lived experience of drug and alcohol addiction to have a positive influence on the future of recovery treatment.
We're inviting the recovery community to be part of something we are calling "Community Voice" - which is exactly that - a space for the community to put their thoughts, ideas and experiences forward and to collaboratively seek innovative solutions to improve the outcomes for people facing addiction.
Our very first meeting will be on Friday 17th May, from 1pm-4:30pm, at Wat Tyler Country Park in Pitsea, Basildon.
What can you expect?
- To celebrate recovery
- An African drumming workshop
- To hear stories from our Voices of Recovery team
- To meet our community researchers
- The opportunity to share your experiences and have your voice heard
Who’s invited?
We want the Community Voice to be a diverse representation of the recovery community.
- People with lived experience of addiction
- People in treatment
- Family and friends of people affected by addiction
- People working in drug and alcohol services - Read more about it here: www.essexrecoveryfoundation.org/community-voice
